ClickFunnels has made a pretty major name for itself since it started, getting one of the most significant advertising SaaS (Software as a Service) companies around. I guess it’s no surprise–ClickFunnels is about earning its users money. Specifically, it’s about giving software which helps them turn their own site visitors into customers to businesses. It is no wonder ClickFunnels has increased so much in a brief time period.
There is no denying it is popular, but does that mean it’s well worth it? How much can we hope the audience? In this ClickFunnels review, I’ll go through the gist of ClickFunnels–what it is, the positives and the negatives, the characteristics, customer assistance, and so on. I am basing this review on my own experience with ClickFunnels’ StartUp plan, which includes the ClickFunnels features and plenty of whistles and bells. I give a nod towards other reviews I have seen, as not every user will agree with me about the last verdict.
Regardless of whether you decide to use it or not, it’s a significant participant anybody in e-commerce and online marketing should be acquainted with. What’s our rating before you leap in? I will place it at a strong 4 stars. With some drawbacks, it’s definitely great. Keep reading to learn why!

ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email advertising for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets his fans rave about and that direct people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Cancel My Clickfunnels Account
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his staff create funnels more quickly for different ventures, as creating funnels would usually take weeks. But they had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their production would be useful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a boring method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without purchasing anything. At a physical store, you can speak your clients into purchasing something. In a shop, you may be a little more remote from the customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, bring traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up in a page.
You are correct, if you feel that sounds cool –it has turned into a massive deal for internet advertising. Russell Brunson did become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energyto do exactly what requires a lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making your user money. They make it put your content up easy to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is pretty easy to pick everything up–it’ll likely take you a few hours to figure out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a fairly important attribute, and they’ve pulled it. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder, once you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of your visitors that you want to see version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
In general, it’s great to have things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on developers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the full package may not be too much to ask. Cancel My Clickfunnels Account
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have if they tried to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has a number of areas that need work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two pricing alternatives, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a massive drawback, just another investment in your business, and like I have mentioned, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Client Service
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more innovative features, they won’t be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a marketing for certain. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you’ll find yourself purchasing online courses, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and most articles is composed of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sports cars. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they are more focused on making quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy internet marketer stuff.
So much of the product is tied to his own brand and his doctrine, although we all know the founder is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few aspects of their merchandise (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more about the community. As you have the capability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use designs. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some mistakes or will return. Though this really doesn’t occur frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t always check or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I clone pages using the HTML printing alternative barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too pricey for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you do not have to commit to a costly plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and that I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and custom domains; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re solid and you get whatever you need. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Cancel My Clickfunnels Account
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially lets you choose what percentages of the traffic that you need to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is a fantastic function and quite simple to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of businesses, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just have a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
However, are products that are separate, or these attributes? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a little perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you are in a position where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge advantage that you can’t do without them: for most users, just StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote special attention. In fact, I feel a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely with this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather a range of templates with good designs, though as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. You can toggle with fundamental settings and open from the editor as you can see.
Once your pages open in the editor, you be working with a drop and drag builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these components as fitting inside every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move inside sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or around four. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go columns.
It might sound complicated, but it is rather simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it’s a section, but when I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally don’t believe this is a huge problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It, just click the one you want and insert it. Cancel My Clickfunnels Account
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you might have to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple way of incorporating and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each of these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally run and you don’t have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve could be only a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it is stuff you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all potential users enter with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience ) will get the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does creative products or independent ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you’re a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support too. The same holds for individuals selling content such as publications or classes.
Obviously, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I do not believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you need to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their page has a series of classes, each with their own articles. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it may be easy. Cancel My Clickfunnels Account
As after you log into for the customer assistance that is immediate, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I am not pleased with it. They’ve been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In instances when features have not worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, client support representatives were supposedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a scenario that is weird, improbable.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team largely understand that their services are not simple to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it decent. At least queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it meets. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s fine! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you might want to look into third party choices you’ll be able to connect together Should you need a more answer to your advertising needs with greater customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or any glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other positives such as the learning curveintegrations, and superior templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for less entrepreneurs. I’m pretty certain that for the vast majority of prospective users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you’re looking first and foremost for an sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. In the end, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
