While Clickfunnels may be the most popular sales funnel software ever, you often hear people talking about earning a lot of money as a Clickfunnels affiliate. But can you?
Well, the answer is absolutely. But, not everyone will.
It all depends on what your skillset is, and how you go about promoting it.
Clickfunnels Affiliate Promotion Methods
In this article, I’ll lay out a few of the basic ways people promote Clickfunnels as an affiliate. I have tried a few ways myself, and will share what works best for me.
First, let’s lay out a few of the most common promotional methods.
Please note, this is not all of the methods. But, being a member of several Clickfunnels Facebook groups, these are the methods I most commonly see mentioned.
- Facebook Ads
- Google Adwords
- Bing Ads
- Email Marketing
- Share Funnels
- SEO
- Solo Ads
Below, we will discuss each method a little more in depth. Hopefully this can help you decide which method best resonates with you.
Facebook Ads
One of the most common methods of promoting Clickfunnels as an affiliate, is to use Facebook Ads. Matter of fact, Clickfunnels teaches you to do this in their Affiliate Bootcamp.
Most people that tend to advertise via Facebook, use one of Russell Brunson’s books as the lead offer. Either Dotcom Secrets, or Expert Secrets.
Now, is this way effective?
For me it wasn’t. I found that since this is taught in the bootcamp, it is somewhat saturated. Imagine thousands of people, all running the same ad, for the same product.
Essentially, that’s what it is. Now, some people offer a free lead magnet, to get an email address; and in the follow up try and get the customer to take the free + shipping book offer.
This proves to be a much more effective approach, if you are wanting to go the Facebook ad route.
Google Adwords
Up next, is another paid traffic source; Google Adwords.
Now, many people have made a ton of money as a Clickfunnels affiliate, using Adwords. The most popular and well known Clickfunnels affiliate, is Spencer Mecham.
This is with good reason, seeing as he has broken 1 million dollars as an affiliate.
The down side to Google Adwords, is how competitive it is. Especially since the release of Spencer’s course Affiliate Secrets 2.0.
Due to the popularity of his course, many people have dove headfirst into the Adwords method, driving the cost of a single Clickfunnels trial through the roof.
I have seen people paying upwards of $400 for a single click! Not a trial; a click.
Not sure about you, but that’s a little too rich for my blood.
Bing Ads
For the reason of Adwords being so high, some people have turned to advertising on Bing.
Though Bing is not as popular as Google, keep in mind it is still responsible for around 33% of all web traffic.
Recently if you have an Android phone, you may have noticed when clicking a link in your email, the URL opens in Bing instead of Google.
Because of this, I would expect Bing traffic to increase. So, it could be a great opportunity for Bing Ads. In fact, I know of a few people who are very successful with them.
Email Marketing
This method could work in conjunction with paid traffic, or as a stand alone entity.
First off, you have to have an email list built first. You want the list to be built with an audience interested in making money online (also known as the MMO niche).
Another audience that may do well as a Clickfunnels Affiliate, is if you have business contacts on your list. Especially those in a niche such as Health or Real Estate.
From there you would want to promote Clickfunnels in your email followups. Rather that is by providing a ton of free value, or a lead magnet. Or, even a share funnel, which we will discuss next.
Since it is said that it takes someone around 7 times of seeing something on average, before they buy; the goal here is to keep showing them the value of Clickfunnels.
The end result will be that a certain percentage of people will end up taking the free trial of Clickfunnels. Once they do, offer them guidance, or free tools etc to help them along.
The end goal is obviously you want them to become a paying subscriber, in which you would make a recurring commission for each month they remain.
Share Funnels
This is a very effective method for getting Clickfunnels trials. The downside to it, is that you have to already be a Clickfunnels member, and be decent at building a funnel.
What you will do, is drive traffic to a landing page, in which you literally give away these funnels for free.
The goal here, is for people to not be Clickfunnels members already, so they will have to sign up with your link, then import the funnel into their dashboard.
Not only does this work, it was the first strategy that actually worked on me a year or so ago. This is a win-win in most cases.
The new subscriber instantly has a funnel, which can potentially allow them to start collecting trials immediately. Also at the same time, it lands the Clickfunnels user who provided the funnel, new trials.
From there, you would send some helpful followup emails, with advice on how to land the traffic, and how to turn them into paying members.
Most likely, you will also be receiving emails from the funnel builder. Because just like you are trying to convert trials with your funnel, they are trying to convert you.
It is not as easy as it sounds. Because in order for this to be effective, you have to have traffic of course. This can be done by either paid traffic, email marketing or SEO; which we will talk about now.
SEO
For those of you that don’t know, SEO is my bread and butter.
Sure, it takes longer to start making progress. But, it involves little to no money to get started.
The goal behind SEO, is to write high quality and helpful articles (like this one), that will rank in the search engines of Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.
While it takes some time to rank, once it does a good article can bring in traffic for years to come; with minimal upkeep.
This was my preferred method when starting out, because I did not want to sink a lot of money into paid traffic.
The con about paid traffic, is that though you can get traffic quick, you have to constantly keep sinking money into ads, or the traffic stops.
You do not have to worry about this with SEO.
Though I have not made a million dollars with Clickfunnels as an affiliate, all of my earnings are profit.
Here is a screenshot of my dashboard at the time of this writing.

I started getting Clickfunnels traffic around April of last year. So, about 9 months ago.
As you can see, I have earned almost 15k in Clickfunnels Affiliate commissions.
The good thing about SEO, is how it starts to compound once your site(s) start to rank.
If you are interested in how I personally learned SEO, you can check out the course I took here.
Solo Ads
Last on my list, is solo ads.
Solo ads is one of the most popular strategies to building an email list.
You most likely will not get any trials, maybe a stray 1 or 2 from running a solo ad. But, you should get a decent amount of optins to your list.
From there, you would use the email marketing method, to try and convert your new list subscribers to Clickfunnels trials.
With effective email marketing, this can be a great way to earn commissions in the long run.
The good news about solo ads, is that they are a list in which you will forever own.
You don’t own Google traffic. Or, Facebook traffic.
You do own your email list.
If Facebook shut down tomorrow, I know a lot of people personally, who would be SOL.
Another plus to solo ads, is that once you build your list, you can promote many different affiliate offers. It is not solely for Clickfunnels.
Affiliate Bootcamp
Clickfunnels has its own Clickfunnels Affiliate training, called the Affiliate Bootcamp.
You can register here for free.
The motto behind this, is teaching you “How to Retire in 100 Days As a Clickfunnels Affiliate”.
Though I find that a bit extreme, it is very informative, and can be very helpful if you choose to go through it.
To be able to do all of the training, you will at least need to have the 14 day trial of Clickfunnels, which can be found here.

If after 2 weeks of trialing, you don’t feel like paying for it, Clickfunnels is simple to cancel. I have done it myself in the past.
It is done through the dashboard, so there is no need to have to talk to anyone about it, if you decide it’s not for you.
Summary
So, as you can see – it can be very profitable as a Clickfunnels affiliate.
Like with anything, there are many people who fail. However, if you simply take action, and tweak things as you go, you will be successful.
My advice to you would be to pick one method which resonates with you, and master it. I see a lot of people who remain stuck, because they divide their attention in too many directions.
This does not help you scale. It holds you back.
